Not so sleepy now

Although she's spending much more of her days awake now, our little sweetpea still takes many, many naps. (Luckily, this isn't interfering with her nighttime sleep anymore though... she's become quite the good little sleeper!)

Luckily, Amelia is willing to share with Hank. He was quite jealous of her hat. I think they're going to be great friends.

Today was a really good one... we got lots of smiles! Was it because of the silly faces we were making for her? Or because she was so fashionable? We may never know.

Amelia has become much more interested in everything around her this week. She looks at us more closely now and has developed a serious love affair with the fishies on her swing's mobile.
She also has a lot more fun playing with her Dad now.
We've also discovered that she loves bathtime... as long as we keep the bathwater warm enough.

And more...

She still looks quite serious most of the time.
But Dad can always bring out a good smile.
She has been rockin' the gray sweatsuit from Aunt Hill. You can't see them here, but this outfit has ruffles on the butt. I think those are mostly there to deter Dad from spanking her. Ruffles are surprisingly powerful.

Welcome to our new blog!

We were a bit worried about flooding the inboxes of family and friends with overeager new-parent photomania, so we decided to venture into blogging territory. We'll do our best to post new photos regularly and thought this would be a good way to give all of our beloved long-distance folks some updates on how the little one is doing. (Yeah, yeah... I know, Hill. You don't believe me. I know, I'm generally terrible about this sort of thing.) Also, I'll apologize in advance for my clunky page layout until I get a better hang of this whole blogger thing.

And now for the good stuff...

Amelia is already six weeks old! She learned how to smile (for real... not just by accident) this week and is wooing us daily with beautiful little grins. Unfortunately, she is still prone to wailing for no particular reason. This photo was taken about two minutes after the one above.
